Jeff Fields is a former law enforcement veteran with over two decades of experience at the local and federal levels, specializing in public safety and Homeland Security matters. He has conducted highly sensitive and publicized internal investigations with the government, earning recognition for his cases. Jeff is a passionate advocate for addiction recovery within the law enforcement community.
“My story is not unique or groundbreaking, yet it is a narrative that serves as another testament to the power of relying on God. I am not full of quotes on life or inspirational quotes one could post on social media. I am not a doctor, a therapist, or a celebrity with a platform where I tell you about life’s lessons. I am a child of God, husband, father, former law enforcement professional, and…an alcoholic.”

ENDORSEMENTS FOR JEFF FIELDS
Paul J. LeonardSpecial Agent in Charge (2008 – Ret 2023)Department of Homeland Security
Jeff joined the Inspection Service in Raleigh as an 1811 lateral when his wife transferred to North Carolina. He immediately established himself as a valuable member of our small team. Little did we know Jeff was battling the demons that many law enforcement professionals deal with, but often ignore. Though putting on a brave face and being hard-working member of our team, he had an incident that brought those demons to light. Like the warrior he is; he faced them head on and came clean with his addiction. He strove to overcome them, but unfortunately, they were much too powerful to defeat on his own. Jeff then came to the realization he can’t battle this by himself and got the help he needed. Jeff was able to put words to paper the pain, suffering and heartache his addiction brought with the hope that it can help others realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel. All too often, first responders are afraid to admit they have a problem for fear of retaliation, ridicule and/or career suicide. Jeff has proven there’s no shame in asking for help. I am grateful he had the courage to say what needed to be said and let others know they are not alone.
